As you may have read in our recent email update, Alltrue has been assumed under new ownership. Don’t worry: the brand you know and love isn’t going anywhere. In fact, we’ll be doing more than ever to carry our core mission forward as a force for good in the world. With renewed vision and resources, we’re excited about what the future holds.
To provide a bit more information, this past April, in part due to supply chain issues and macroeconomic challenges, Alltrue was pushed to an unexpected and sudden financial breaking point and filed for a bankruptcy alternative called an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (an "ABC"). This resulted in a complete halt and shutdown of the business while a 3rd party trustee immediately assumed responsibility of the company and its assets, and was tasked with selling the assets in order to create the best possible outcome for its creditors to pay off debts owed. In the months that followed, the trustee worked to find a new home for the business, with the hope the mission could be carried forward and funds could be received in order to pay off any debt. This past Summer, Alltrue was purchased by new ownership, and operations resumed July 1st. It is important to note all funds from the sale are being used to pay off any debts owed by the previous owners.
While we are incredibly grateful to be back, unfortunately, in the transfer of ownership, we were not able to retain 3 main member groups:
1) Those who had set their memberships to cancel prior to the acquisition
2) Those who pursued a chargeback, which would have closed your account
3) Those whose billing information was linked to PayPal, even if your account was active
You should have also recently received an email in either early July or early August with detailed information and an individual membership status update. Please see below for additional details:
If your membership is showing up in your My Account (this means on the Memberships page your plan shows with any status (active or cancelled), you still remain a member and no further action is necessary on your end. You should have already received your Spring Box this past Summer.
If you had a membership plan linked to PayPal, unfortunately you will no longer see a membership plan under 'My Memberships' and you will need to start a new membership in order to continue receiving shipments. You should have received communication to your email address on file on August 12th with additional details. One of the biggest challenges during this acquisition is that we were unable to maintain memberships for subscribers who used PayPal as their method of payment, because of PayPal’s policies during Alltrue’s transition to new ownership. We had been in talks with PayPal in the hopes to come to a resolution, but unfortunately were unable. If you were still owed any orders under your membership, you should be able to receive a refund from PayPal. Please follow this link for further guidance about refunds. For orders placed over 180 days ago through PayPal, you will need to follow up directly with the credit card or banking institution your PayPal was linked to for the purchase to request a chargeback (additional details can be viewed below).
If your membership plan had been set to cancel prior to the acquisition, you will no longer see a membership plan under 'My Memberships'. This means your membership plan has been removed and you are no longer set to receive seasonal boxes. You should have received communication to your email address on file on July 1st with further details.
If you believe you had any remaining box(es) in your membership at the time of cancellation, you should be eligible for a refund through your financial institution’s chargeback process. You can view a helpful article with instructions for filing a chargeback by clicking the link HERE. For orders placed over 180 days ago through PayPal, you will need to follow up directly with the credit card or banking institution your PayPal was linked to for the purchase to request a chargeback.
While we are incredibly grateful for the second chance to continue our mission and serve our community, we are unable to issue a refund as the transaction was with the previous property entity. In order to retrieve your funds we recommend following your financial institution’s chargeback process, as noted above.
We are deeply sorry about any inconvenience this may cause — and as we are excited to begin this next new chapter with Alltrue, it is especially important we recognize what a difficult time this has been for many of our loyal members. As a courtesy, we have made sure to send you a coupon code at our best possible rate, as we would love nothing more than for you to continue your journey with us during Alltrue’s next chapter. If you did not receive this coupon code, please send an email to email@example.com and we would be happy to provide it.
Whether or not you choose to renew, as part of our effort to ease the difficulty of this transition, we are offering you lifetime access to our Add-On Market ($40/year in value). You do not need to do anything, your current login will grant you market access regardless of your membership status!
